Hi! I’m Alex.

I’m a writer, storyteller, and homeschooling mom of two, and also a lifelong wheelchair user. I tell stories about life at the intersection of disability and parenting, friendship, and generally existing in public. Pro tip: If you’ve ever told me I’m too pretty to be disabled or really articulate for a girl in a wheelchair, I’ve probably written an essay about it. You can find many of those on my instagram.

While most of my writing is personal or commissioned for blogs, I’ve also done some fun artist, author, musician, and business-owner bios!

My husband, Bryan, is my cheerleader and personal chef, and our kids are Arwen and Asa. When we’re not on a road trip in our camper van, we live in the Santa Cruz Mountains and we love it here.

L to R: Arwen, a blonde, white 5 year old, and Bryan, a white man with a dark beard, sit on a bench, Asa, a blonde, white 2 year old sits in Bryan’s lap, and Alex, a white woman with brown hair, sits in her black wheelchair. Everybody is smiling at the camera and dressed in solid, bright colors.
